Accu-Chek
Compact Plus Glucose Meter

A new glucose meter is in the market, and it’s a pretty cool device! The Accu-Chek Compact Plus is an all-in-one glucose meter. Where most models use separate strips and lancets, this is a compact unit that connects them all together. Accu-Chek packs the lancet device, pre-loaded test strips, and Blood Glucose (BG) meter all in one system, which is rare. The glucose meter has a comfortable design with non-slip rubber grips.

The backlight of the device is one of the best in the industry and so is the way the entire package comes together, with the lancet connected to the monitor. The test strip drum is quite handy too. The carrying case is very durable and can remain intact even if it is accidentally dropped. The compact design and memory storage add value to the overall package. The lancing device is detachable; it can also be used by attaching it to the meter.

The device does not hurt much at all compared to the one with the free meter, so when they say it is less painful, they are serious. Apparently, it has something to do with the vibration—other lancets hit the skin and shake back and forth which causes more pain, whereas Accu-Chek does not— the lancet just goes in and comes out and that’s it. The drum has a cool design and works great as long as you do not accidentally pop it open until it is empty. If you open the drum door by any chance, the meter recodes the drum each time you test, which can take around 30 seconds to finally prepare a test strip for your test. Also, the Accu-Chek Compact Plus blood sugar meter is compatible with Accu-Chek data management tools that allow you to create useful data on your PC.
